Confidential Student Support Officer (CSSO):

The University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union is seeking a Confidential Student Support Officer to act as the primary contact for students with academic and non-academic grievances with faculty and administration as an agent of the USSU. The CSSO will also provide support to the USSU Executive through preparation of weekly University Student Council packages, AGM and SGM packages, and through research projects as required.

Food Centre Attendant:

The Food Centre Attendant is responsible for all aspects of operating and promoting the Food Centre and coordinating programs including the CHEP Good Food Boxes. Under the supervision of the Communications and Services Manager, the Food Centre Attendant is responsible for the successful operation of the Food Centre. This position is a part time, term position running from September 2010 – April 2011 (with the possibility to reapply for a second term) and working approximately 12 hours per week (60 extra hours in October for Trick or Eat). Help Centre Coordinator:

The Help Centre Coordinator coordinates all aspects of the Help Centre ensuring that it supports, gives direction, services, and provides information to undergraduate students at the University of Saskatchewan. Under the supervision of the Communications and Services Manager, the Help Centre Coordinator is responsible for the following:

  • Office management, peer support and peer education
  • Recruit and train suitable volunteers to work at the Help Centre
  • Take responsibility for the conduct and actions of all volunteers working at the centre or on centre programs
  • Promote the operation, services and activities of the Help Centre in particular and the USSU in general
  • Maintain adequate records
  • Ensure all activities of the Help Centre fall within the mandate of the USSU
  • Prepare monthly activity reports
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Work with the Communications and Services Manager to ensure that the budget of the Centre is appropriately spent

Pride Centre Coordinator:

The Pride Centre seeks to work with people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in an open and progressive environment that celebrates and affirms sexual and gender diversity. Under the supervision of the Communications and Services Manager, the Centre Coordinator is responsible for the following:

  • Facilitate programming and provide information on relevant issues
  • Recruit, hire and train suitable volunteers to work at the Pride Centre
  • Assume responsibility for the conduct and actions of all volunteers working at the centre or on centre programs
  • Promote operation, services and activities of the Pride Centre and the USSU in general;
  • Maintain adequate records
  • Ensure all activities of the Pride Centre fall within the mandate of the USSU;
  • Prepare monthly activity reports
  • Assist with budget preparation

Student Crew/Safewalk Supervisor:

The University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union exists to represent, serve and support the academic and non-academic needs of undergraduate students at the University of Saskatchewan through accountable, dynamic and unified leadership. Reporting to the Communications and Services Manager, the Student Crew/Safewalk Supervisor is responsible for coordination of all aspects of Student Crew and Safewalk. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruit, hire, train, discipline and the overall administration of Student Crew employees and Safewalk Volunteers
  • Organize employees to work at various events on and off campus
  • Review all campus club liquor function applications
  • Submit user billing forms after each function for invoice preparation
  • Attend regular meetings to report on operation of Student Crew and Safewalk
  • Develop and maintain working manuals for all employees and volunteers
  • Teach Server Intervention to on campus groups
  • Advertise and promote the Safewalk program

Women's Centre Coordinator:

The Women’s Centre coordinator manages all aspects of the Women’s Centre ensuring that it provides a safe and welcoming space and that it educates on relevant issues on behalf of undergraduate students at the University of Saskatchewan. Under the supervision of the Communications and Services Manager, the Women’s Centre Coordinator is responsible for the following:

  • Facilitate programming and provide information on issues affecting women
  • Recruit and train suitable volunteers to work at the Women’s Centre
  • Assume responsibility for the conduct and actions of all volunteers working at the centre or on centre programs
  • Promote operation, services and activities of the Women’s Centre and the USSU in general;
  • Maintain adequate records
  • Ensure all activities of the Women’s Centre fall within the mandate of the USSU;
  • Prepare monthly activity reports
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Work with the Communications and Services Manager to ensure that the budget of the Centre is appropriately spent
