How Does the USSU Work for Students?

The USSU is involved in many campaigns and events that provide students with education and support on various matters:
    • Academic Advising issues
    • Be Book Smart
    • Disorientation
    • Information and Referral Services
    • Peer Support
    • Post-Secondary Student Support Program
    • Public education and awareness programming
    • Simplified Academic Policy Campaign

USSU Centres 

The USSU Centres, which include the Pride Centre, Women's Centre, Help Centre, and Food Centre, are highly active on campus:

The USSU Pride Centre is involved in:
- The Positive Space Program
- Ally Promotion Week
- The Gender Revolution Group
- Transgender Day of Remembrance
- Queerapalooza

The Pride Centre Coordinator also co-chairs the Provost Advisory Committee on Gender and Sexual Diversity and sits on the Saskatoon Police Advisory Committee on Diversity.

The USSU Women's Centre is involved in:
- International Women's Day
- National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
- Sexual Health Awareness Month  
- Take Back the Night

The USSU Help Centre is involved in:
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (A.S.I.S.T.)
- Mental Health First Aid Training
- Campus Suicide Awareness Day
- Self Injury Awareness Day
- Peer Editing Sessions

The USSU Food Centre provides:
- CHEP Good Food Box
- Emergency Food Hampers
- Free-non perishable food to all drop-ins
- The USSU Food Centre also organizes Trick or Eat
