USSU General Election Schedule 2010

Monday, February 22 - Reading Week ends. EB begins meeting as necessary.

Tuesday, February 23 - Begin call for nominations for Executive & Senate positions.

Monday, March 1 - WCVM break ends – remind them about nominations.

Thursday, March 4 - Finalize forum locations, dates, and times.

Monday, March 8 - MANDATORY Orientation Meeting for all people who wish to run for the Executive in Room 77, Lower Sask Hall at 4 p.m. Chaired by the USSU GM. Nomination forms for Executive will be available at the Orientation Meeting.

Monday, March 8 - Nomination forms for Senate available at the USSU office.

Thursday, March 11 - Nomination forms must be delivered to the USSU office by 4:00 p.m.  A refundable deposit of $100.00 must accompany nomination forms for Executive. MANDATORY Procedures Meeting for all nominees in Room 77, Lower Saskatchewan Hall at 4:30 p.m. Chaired by the Chief Returning Officer.

Friday, March 12 - GMD to begin checking academic standing of Executive nominees.

Monday, March 15 - GMD to finish checking academic standing of Executive nominees.

Wednesday, March 17 - Campaigning begins at 12:01 a.m.

Wednesday, March 24 - Voting begins at 9:00 a.m.  There shall be no campaigning within 30 feet of any fixed, internet-connected computer on voting days.

Thursday, March 25 - Voting ends at 4:00 p.m. 

EB meets at 4:30 p.m. to discuss urgent disciplinary matters and to ratify the results, which will be emailed from PAWS to the ACRO or GMD by 4:30 p.m.

Election results, subject to further discipline, are announced at Browsers’ at 5:30 p.m.

All campaign material must be removed by 11:59 p.m.

Thursday, April 1 - Formal complaints must be delivered to the USSU office by 4:00 p.m.

Friday, April 23 - Names of elected MSCs must be submitted for ratification by 4:00 p.m.
