Positive Space 

Positive Space workshops are a beginner’s overview of gender and sexual diversity. The workshop looks at different ways to create positive spaces for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, queer, and questioning people.

Peer Support

Volunteers are trained in queer issues and offer informed, confidential support. They are available by appointment and on a walk-in basis during centre hours.

Peer Support is provided by trained volunteers in a non-judgmental environment and may share other student support resources.

LBGTT2IQQ Issues In Education

The USSU Pride Centre Library has an extensive collection of books and magazines focused on sexual orientation and gender identity content. We’re always looking for recommendations, so please feel free to let us know about anything you think would benefit students. 

The U of S Library provides an online catalogue for students to search their collection.

Housing

Landlords and tenants should commit to nurturing safe, positive and inclusive living spaces for all tenants and roommates regardless of their self-identification. The USSU Housing Registry is available here

Queer Housing is an opportunity open to all queer students to live in a queer-specific community within Residence.

Stitch and Bitch

A night full of stitching and discussions focused around issues that queer identities face in their day to day lives. This event will happen weekly at 5:00 pm on Tuesdays all gender identities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations are welcome!

Gender Coup d’etat

Discussing diversity and dismantling toxicity within the Queer community both locally and internationally. This is a Biweekly discussion group that will take place every second Wednesday night at 5:00 pm all gender identities and expressions are welcome!

Pride Night

Thursdays 5:00 p.m. All Genders Welcome!

Come together for a night of fun and friends! The weekly night for fun, games, and discussion at the USSU Pride Centre. An inclusive and LGBTQ+ and Minority Positive event.

The USSU Pride Centre maintains an extensive list of resources and services aimed at lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirited, intersexed, queer, questioning and allied persons.

Queer Courses

The university offers a number of queer courses to students. On our campus you can speak with an academic advisor to better understand the programs available. You can also meet with a career coach to talk about what you want to do after school.
