Student Union Executive Launch “Move-in-Crew!” Event to Help First-Year Students Move into Residence On Saturday the 29th and Monday the 31st, all five Executive members will be volunteering their mornings to help first year students at the University move into residence at the University of Saskatchewan campus. Most of the move-in activity will be happening at the Voyageur Place Residence in Athabasca Hall. “For many first year students, this will be the first time they’ve lived away from their parents, which makes the move to campus particularly daunting and stressful,” said USSU President Warren Kirkland. In addition to helping students carry their belongings into their new homes, the Executive will also be meeting and greeting new students, and answering questions they might have about the University of Saskatchewan. “We want to do everything we can to help new students feel welcome to the campus, even if it’s something as simple as giving them directions to a building. When you feel welcome to a new place you’re far more likely to thrive academically and enjoy your student experience,” said Kirkland. The Move-in-Crew event will be held from 8:15-11:00 a.m. this Saturday and Monday at Athabasca Hall, located at 91 Campus Drive on the University of Saskatchewan Campus.
