Designated Parking Program: Overview
If students do not receive a parking space after applying to the lottery, they MAY be eligible for the USSU’s designated parking program. This program was developed to allow parking access to students who are deemed to have an exceptional need.
Students who require parking because of exceptional circumstances, may apply to the Designated Parking Program only after they have been unsuccessful in the lottery. It is MANDATORY for all students to apply to the lottery before qualifying for the Designated Parking Program. Lots will not be upgraded. Applications must be received between completion of the lottery and September 6, 2011.
Please complete and email your application form to the USSU VP Student Affairs, or for additional questions regarding the USSU's Designated Parking Program contact the USSU VP Student Affairs directly at 966.6970.
The Student’s Union will review all applications but space is limited and applicants are not guaranteed a parking space. Vehicles must be registered to the user or their parents (proof will be required at pick up of the parking pass). Successful applications will be contacted by the USSU and provided to Parking Services by September 9, 2011. Permits must be picked up by September 12, 2011.
Out of town students are NOT eligible for this program. Disabled students, please contact Parking Services at 966.4507.
For additional information, please contact Parking Services at 966.4502 or visit the Parking Services website.
Keep in mind that there are alternative transportation methods, such as U-Pass (the universal bus pass). Active transportation (such as biking or walking) is also an excellent way to save money and help the environment.
