Pride Centre: Programs & Services

SPECIAL NOTE: The USSU Pride Centre has moved! You can find the USSU Pride Centre at its new temporary location in Room 42 Lower Sask Hall. To view a map of the new location Click Here.

The USSU Pride Centre supplies information on safer sex, community organizations, as well as free condoms, latex gloves, dental dams, and female condoms. The Centre also offers information on local and national Queer news and community LBGTT2IQQ events.

In addition, the Centre has an extensive collection of books and magazines focused on sexual orientation and gender identity issues. Our library is available for all undergraduate students at the University of Saskatchewan.

Peer Support

Pride Centre volunteers are trained in LBGTT2IQQ issues and offer informed, confidential support. Students may be referred, when necessary, to an appropriate organization, counselor, doctor or other professional.

Discussion Groups

The USSU Pride Centre operates informal discussion groups open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Some offerings for the 2009/10 School Year include:

  • Tuesday Night Programming: A weekly activity group open to all individuals focusing on fun activities such as pot luck suppers, movie nights, and more.
  • Gender Revolution: A transgender discussion group focused on providing education on transgender issues to the broader community. This group is open to all individuals.
  • Queer Men's Night: The USSU Pride Centre is currently seeking a dedicated volunteer to run a discussion group focused on queer men's issues.

Discussion groups operate during Regular Session and are facilitated by our volunteers and coordinator.
